BIG FUTURES COME FROM SMALL SCHOOLS

Diversity of culture, a rich tradition of excellence, and a caring eye to developmentally respectful practices has made Dove Day School a force in San Gabriel Valley Education since 1960.  Our strategies for success include a preschool that imparts a functional scholastic foundation and produces excited learners.  The grade school divisions are able to keep students in their maturity and social range with small learning groups and by providing enrichment or remediation as necessary.  Dove Day School's founders believed that a gifted educator takes the child in front of them and teaches that child. 

Babies are working hard, learning constantly, and deserve:

• A safe, predictable environment with
• routine procedures provided with respectful and satisfying interactions.
• A developmentally conscious program and
• caring adults that respond to coos and giggles as intensely as they respond to distress.
• Time and space to work on the skills within their own agenda at their own pace.

Education has gone from Nursery School to full on academic prep since Marie Dove first opened in 1960. Our teachers work to balance the needs of tomorrow's Kindergartener with the interest and energy of today's preschooler.  While each teacher brings their own personality to this project, Dove Day School's approach to theme, letter, and numeral learning is utilized in each classroom.  It's fascinating to see skill development and social expression unfold uniquely in each child. We guide as we can with concepts to last a lifetime.

We are offering two options for children turning 5 years old before September 1, 2020 through those having finished Grade 7 in June in our School Age Licensed Facility.  

• Both Short Day and Extended Day Care will be on campus Monday through Friday.  Please see the "Until the World Returns to Normal School Age Care Agreement" for details.
• We are offering Virtual Attendance for those that wish to stay at home and only need the K-8 academics.  Please see the "Elementary Agreement for Virtual Attendance" for details. 
• Dove Day has always utilized the child care day to advance children's knowledge and readiness, to that end we are offering skill and interest based activities in reading/language, science, social science, math and physical education. The Virtual Attenders and the Children in Care will be enjoying much of the same material and interactions.   
• We support your public school student with their distance learning assignments but cannot offer online access for their live interaction.
• Every space children occupy is licensed for child care by the State of California Department of Social Services under Community Care Licensing.  Our School Age Facility # 198019961

Our combination classes allow the teacher time to understand each student's interests, and learning style.  The learner has responsibility in a powerful way and a say in their outcomes.  We use small groups for academics and combine skill groups for topics like science and social science with the goals tailored to the individual's interest and capacity.   

We are huge fans of Bonita Unified School District and love our role in supporting families in their public school choice.  Being part of "getting out of school" makes our day more fun so we licensed all of our K-8 rooms. Our private school students and our after school friends can freely enjoy one another.
